Suppose I want to send a different paragraph to different recipients based on some condition. Further, suppose that the different paragraphs are completely different, not the same except for a few fields that need to be filled in. In the current system, my only option is to put the complete paragraph into each line in the spreadsheet. Now suppose I have, say, 400 lines in the spreadsheet and only, say, 5 different paragraphs. I would have to put each of the paragraphs into the spreadsheet an average of 80 times!
It would be so much better if I could just define a string whose value was the paragraph text. I would then define 5 such strings, and merely reference them from the spreadsheet rows where I was going to use them. Not only does this make my spreadsheet more compact, but if I need to change any of the paragraphs, I only need to change them in one place, not on each of the avg. 80 rows where they are present in the spreadsheet.
Carrying this a step further, one should be able to select a text string based on an arbitrary set of boolean conditions involving field values in the current record. Adding this facility would make YAMM much more flexible and powerful.
