Learn how to import your contacts from Copper (Prosperworks CRM) into Google Sheets to send a mail merge with Gmail from your spreadsheet.
Prerequisites: Create a Copper account and contacts
*Otherwise simply log into your account and go directly to Method 1: Use ‘Use Copper CRM Custom Report Builder’ add-on
In our example, we are creating an account under the free trial period, click Continue With Google.
Select your Google account.
Then, click Allow to accept the authorizations.
Finally, write your company’s information and click Get Started.
A pop-up appears, click on the cross to close it.
Click People to have an overview of of your contact list.
When you create a Copper account, there are only five contacts on your list. These are fake sample contacts provided by Copper when you first sign up.
Click Add new to add new contacts.
A pop-up to create a contact appears. Fill the information requested. Then, click Save.
Method 1: Use ‘Copper CRM Custom Report Builder’ add-on
1. Install Copper CRM Custom Report Builder
Get this add-on to connect your Copper CRM data to Google Spreadsheets or click the button below to install the add-on from the Chrome Web Store:
From your spreadsheet, click Add-ons > Get add-ons.
Search for Copper on your Google Sheets add-on store.
Then, click it and click Install.
Google asks you to sign in. Select your Google account.
Finally, click Allow to accept authorizations.
Once you allowed all the authorizations, a pop-up explaining where to find the add-on appears, click Next > Done.
The add-on has been installed into your Google account!
2. Import contacts from Copper CRM Custom Report Builder
From your spreadsheet, go to Add-ons > Copper CRM Custom Report Builder > Import data.
A new window opens. Click Sign In.
Then, pick what you want to import.
In our exemple, we decided to import the data from People and the filter Potential Customers. Click Import data.
Method 2: Import an Excel file in your spreadsheet
To import your Copper contact list in your spreadsheet, you have to export it to a .xlsx file.
Click on the Gear icon > Manage Your Data > Export Data.
In our example we selected Export People.
Check your inbox. It can take up to 2 or 3 minutes to receive the generated file.
Then, click on the link People export file.
Go back to your spreadsheet. Click File > Import.
Click Upload > Select the file from your computer. Then, select your Excel file.
