The allotted daily quota depends on the plan you choose (free or paid plan). In some specific cases, you won't be able to use all your quota because of Google restrictions.
The main reason that can affect your quota is if your account is relatively new. Google progressively increases the sending limits of new Google Workspace accounts before they reach full capacity.
If you purchased a paid plan, but you are limited to 400 recipients, it’s because your new Google Workspace account is under a free trial period or a warm-up period.
Note that the YAMM quota is always lower than the Google quota. The following table presents the available YAMM daily quotas.
Google Workspace free trial period | Google Workspace warm-up period | Google Workspace full capacity |
---|---|---|
400 recipients / 24 hours | 400 recipients / 24 hours | 1500 recipients / 24 hours |
14 days | See details below | - |
When you create a new Google Workspace account, it is in a free trial period which lasts 14 days. After the free trial, your account enters a warm-up period. This period ends automatically when BOTH the following conditions are satisfied:
- your domain has been billed USD 100 (or equivalent), and
- 60 days at least have passed since your domain reached this payment threshold
That means it can be quite a long time before your account can send emails to 1500 recipients/day, and it is entirely due to Google restrictions. We advise you to contact Google Support directly if you have further questions about this.

Once your account reaches its full capacity, you can send emails to 1,500 recipients per rolling 24 hours.
Here are the other common reasons that can explain a lower than expected quota:
Common reasons | Explanations | Learn more |
---|---|---|
Adding cc/bcc recipients | If you have multiple recipients per email, including people added as cc/bcc, all the emails will be counted towards your quota. | Add cc or bcc recipients in your emails |
Personalized attachments | If you have a Gmail.com account, or a Google Workspace account which is under a trial period or a warm-up period, YAMM only allows you to send 100 emails with attachments. | Add personalized attachments to your emails |
Using other applications | Your quota is shared among all the other add-ons/scripts. We recommend not using any other applications to send emails, attachments or reminders while using YAMM. | |
Using the wrong Google account | If you are logged into multiple Google accounts (Google Workspace or Gmail) in the same web browser, make sure you are on the right one before sending your YAMM mail merge. | Sign out from your Gmail account |
Using the old Google Apps legacy free edition | Google offered a free edition of Google Workspace account that had a reduced set of business features. You’ll be limited to 100 recipients per user per day if you use the old Google Apps legacy free edition. | Google Apps legacy free edition / Quotas for Google Services |
