Ask a quick question in your email ('are you planning to come?', 'which one would you prefer?',...) and let people answer simply by clicking on a link, instead of having to write a formal email response. YAMM Polls lets you easily insert a mini form in your draft and will collect all responses in your Google Sheets.
This article is for users who want to insert simple forms with one question to their emails, and collect short answers.
If you want to add multiple questions or more complex forms with MCQs, then please use Google Forms.
Why use YAMM Polls?
When you ask a question with YAMM Polls, you make it fast and easy for your subscribers to reply. They simply choose their answer directly from your email.
Here are a few examples:
- You're inviting your friends or family to an event (a wedding, party, corporate event ...) and need to quickly know who will attend
- As a product manager you are about to release new features on your product and want to collect feedbacks
- You are trying to understand your prospects' needs and check if they would be interested in what you're selling
1. Insert the form links to your Gmail draft
All your form links must begin exactly with the following syntax:
Where [YOUR_RESPONSE] corresponds to the response you want to collect.
Let's take the example where we want to know who will attend our wedding. To test this feature, you can make a copy of the following template on Google Docs to your Gmail draft:
We have included the three following answers / responses to our form: Yes, No, Maybe.

Note: YAMM is case sensitive so your answers will appear in your spreadsheet exactly like how you typed them at the end of the links (upper or lower cases). If you inserted 'https://yet-another-mail-merge.com?response=MAYBE', the answer will be 'MAYBE'.
In your Gmail draft, simply insert your links with your answers like any normal link. So you can insert them behind images, buttons, or simple text. In our example we'll choose to insert them behind text:
2. Activate the tracker and send your mail merge
Once you're ready with your template, send your campaign to people you want after activating the tracker. If you forget to do it then YAMM won't be able to collect your recipients' answers.
3. Collect all responses and enjoy the result
When your recipients answer to your form, they will be redirected to the following page, which confirms that their responses have been recorded by YAMM:
Go back to your spreadsheet, and you'll notice a new column called 'YAMM Poll' which has been automatically created. You can then collect and check all your recipients' answers at a glance:
